I love when I meet with a couple who are truly excited about planning their wedding. When I first met with Tina and Bart, I was struck by how involved they both were, as well as how involved both families were in making this a memorable celebration. In that first meeting, as Tina described all of the wonderful thoughtful details that were going into the wedding, I grew giddy with the excitement at the prospect of photographing their big day. One of my favourite parts of shooting weddings is observing the unique details that the bride and groom put into making their day personal. I am ALL about the details, and this wedding, a DIY extravaganza, was sensory overload! When I got to the venue (Gracewood Estate/ Kurtz Orchards in Niagara), where both the ceremony and reception was held, I was in awe of the amount of work that was put into their day. The personal touch of Tina + Bart and their families was on everything – from the the signs, the favours, and the hand-sewn table runners, to the sweet table, the ceremony decor and everything in between – far too many details to mention or even post pictures of! It was one of those amazing days where everything came together perfectly, and oh-so-beautifully.
